About Impactive
Impactive, backed by YCombinator and Higher Ground Labs, was founded in 2017 as a get-out-the-vote tool for Democrats. Impactive has since expanded to become a distributed organizing platform allowing anyone to make an impact for the causes and candidates they care about. Our thesis is that grassroots activism at scale is better at changing hearts and minds than political ads. We empower activists with technology to make it easy to mobilize in a way that is both impactive and coordinated with the campaigns and organizations that have been doing this vital work for decades.
Columbia University’s Data Institute recently estimated Impactive's cost per vote at $2, making our method the single most effective form of organizing. Impactive has been covered by The New York Times, Washington Post, TechCrunch, Fast Company, and many more.
In 2020, Impactive worked with over 900 campaigns and organizations including Planned Parenthood, SEIU, Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote, DCCC, DSCC, DNC, and presidential campaigns.
About the Role
Impactive is leading a new organizing initiative in partnership with the CDC Foundation that aims to increase vaccine trust and uptake in communities of color, specifically the Black and Latinx communities. The initiative will launch in a number of pilot cities, beginning in Compton, CA and the DMV area.
Impactive’s Regional Organizers will work closely with our Program Director and Senior Organizing Advisor to implement organizing tactics for our CDC Foundation partnership during its initial ten week pilot. The initiative will leverage organizing tactics, including relational organizing, as well as mobilization tactics such as SMS and broadcast texting programs to reach communities of color. The Regional Organizers will work closely with local partners in pilot cities to implement this program.
Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidates for this position have 2-5 years of campaign experience, understand organizing and power building in communities of color, and have a demonstrated ability to foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork. This is a remote, short-term campaign that will end in June 2021, with the possibility to extend.
We don’t expect each candidate to have expertise in every single one of these areas — we’re looking for candidates who are strong in a couple of areas, and are passionate about learning and growing in others.
We eagerly accept applicants with diverse backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. Impactive is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate our employees’ differences, and know that differences — of all kinds — make us infinitely stronger.
Compensation and Work Environment
Applications for this position will be accepted on a rolling basis and the position will remain posted until filled. We strongly encourage applicants to apply by March 21, 2021.
