“We wanted to find a tool that allowed us to do both Peer-to-Peer Texting and relational messaging in one application. The price point for the Standard plan was just right for us as a smaller campaign. In the end, the fantastic customer support and the team’s commitment to partnering with us closely made the onboarding process very easy.”
campaigns and organizations trust Impactive to organize and mobilize their volunteers.
10DLC refers to a set of texting regulations enforced by mobile carriers like Verizon and AT&T. With these regulations, political campaigns and organizations sending SMS or MMS messages (via both Peer-to-Peer Texting and Broadcast Texting) must register for 10DLC or face possible fines and blocked messages.
Impactive facilitates the registration process through our messaging vendor, Twilio, for all clients looking to send SMS or MMS texts. All you need to do is fill out and submit Impactive’s registration form with brand information, including business name, address, and type. We’ll do the rest.
10DLC registration timing varies significantly; while many registrations are accepted within a few days, others take up to a few weeks if additional information is requested. You can stay updated on your registration by viewing a status tracker on the peer-to-peer or broadcast pages of the admin dashboard. While your registration is pending, we recommend keeping texting to a minimum to avoid carrier-imposed consequences.
We strongly recommend our clients to follow other guidelines set by 10DLC regulations, like identifying your organization as the sender in initial outbound messages. Find Impactive’s best practices for minimizing list errors and opt-out rates in our Help Center here.
Peer-to-peer texting is the process of volunteers reaching out to supporters via text. Also called P2P texting, this texting strategy is an authentic way for organizations to engage with supporters and contact new supporters.
Peer-to-peer texting is a popular tool used to get out the vote, gather support for crucial issues, fundraise, and more. P2P texting is especially helpful for sharing information and persuading contacts because volunteers can initiate one-to-one conversations with recipients.
